Meet the team

Enjoy Education was set up to provide children with the assistance to achieve the best results possible through active engagement and enjoyment of their subjects. Each of our tutors is committed to improving children’s marks and raising their confidence in an increasingly competitive academic environment.

We have all, at some stage in life, been motivated by exceptional teaching so we only put forward tutors who have the ability to enthuse young people and help them achieve their goals.

Kate Shand, Managing Director & Founder

Kate Shand was educated at St Mary's School, Ascot and read English Literature and Language at Brasenose College, Oxford. She has been a private consultant since 1998 and set up Enjoy Education back in 2005. Kate has worked with children of varying abilities aged between four and 21 years old and has taught mainly in the UK, Europe and the United States.

Kate is passionate about educational reform and closely follows the ever-changing political and scholastic landscape. She feels strongly that private tuition should always be tailored to the specific learning capabilities of each student. Kate has also been instrumental in helping to create ongoing relationships with schools who trust in our tutoring programmes and the tutors we provide.

Katie Wright, Senior Education Consultant

Katie is the main liaison between clients and Enjoy Education tutors, ensuring that each student gets the most from their one to one sessions.

She has recently returned from tutoring children with learning difficulties in a township school in Kenya, which she found incredibly rewarding.  Having worked in marketing for several years developing exciting brand and client partnerships, it was this recent teaching experience that inspired her to transfer her skills into the education field.

Katie also has a great passion for France and the French language, having lived in Paris for a year as part of her Economics and French degree at the University of Nottingham.   She is a keen tennis player and avid skier and, although the rest of the office doesn’t agree, has the singing voice of an angel.

Zahra Saeed, Marketing and Operations Manager

Zahra has spent three years as a full time teacher and so is no stranger to the tutoring world.

Zahra studied Law with European Law at the University of Nottingham. Upon graduating, she got the travel bug and journeyed to China and Spain where she taught children and adults, using her creativity and imagination to bring the English language to life. She is now using these skills to develop Enjoy Education's website, marketing and invoicing programme, while also helping the office to run as smoothly as possible.

Growing up on the Kenyan coast has given Zahra a love of all things aquatic, and as a teenager, she represented her country in swimming. Since moving to the decidedly less balmy UK, she prefers to keep dry and soak up the fantastic art and culture that London has to offer instead.

Marjun Ziarati, Education Consultant

Marjun graduated from The University of Birmingham where she read International Studies and Spanish, also spending one year of the four-year course studying Political Science at Complutense University, Madrid.

Marjun grew up bi-lingual and is now able to speak a number of languages and is always eager to learn more. She is well acquainted with the world of tutoring and as a TEFL qualified teacher has taught in Rio de Janeiro and Madrid.  She has also worked full time in a busy press office and as a freelance journalist.

Now an invaluable member of the EE team, Marjun works closely with tutors and assists Kate and Katie in finding the right tutor for each of our students.

In her spare time, Marjun enjoys improving her language skills. Admittedly obsessed with all things South American, especially Brazilian, she seizes every opportunity to watch foreign films, visit relevant cultural exhibitions and undertake extensive reading.

We look forward to hearing from you
