13+ Preparation

13+ Preparation

Children are examined in many subjects for their 13+. While the 11+ examines Maths, English, Science (for certain schools), Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning skills, the 13+ exam is more challenging and children’s weak areas can often be highlighted in certain subjects. We are here to address any difficulties which crop up so that your child has the best chance of success in their Common Entrance. It is important to know that a number of select schools set a pre-assessment exam in Year 6 or Year 7 so it is vital to plan ahead and ensure your child receives extra help at the right time.

We offer detailed knowledge about the individual exams set by each public school including scholarship level exams.  All our tutors are experienced in teaching 13+ and are individually matched to each child using our Match Tutor to Pupil service  following an optional personalised assessment. Our tutors focus on exam technique, how to respond to different exam formats and they prepare students for the highest achieving schools.

Children who receive private tuition with us have recently gained places at schools such as Eton, Westminster and St. Paul’s amongst many others.

We also provide detailed consultancy. Here are some initial questions to consider for your child:”

Secondary Schools:
  • Day or boarding?
  • Location?
  • Single-sex or co-educational?
  • Examinations: GCSE/A LEVEL or IB?
  • Universities: Great Britain or Abroad?
Enjoy Education sent us a bright, enthusiastic tutor to help our son James with Science. He boosted James’ confidence and his grades quickly improved so he got his place at Eton. He is absolutely thrilled!
