Celebrating Home-schooling student success

This month we kicked off the academic year and welcomed a new cohort of home-schoolers! As such, we have been reflecting on all the students we supported last year. Over 80 students embarked on their unique home-schooling journeys with Enjoy, and we are so excited to celebrate all their amazing successes, and to reflect on the diversity of goals we’ve supported this last year.

Success, as we’ve witnessed, takes on a multitude of forms for each student. This is the ethos that drives our commitment to nurturing individual learning journeys and we are thrilled to be able to share some of our success stories from last year.

This year, Enjoy Education supported over 80 students on their home-schooling journeys. We had 26 students sitting both GCSE and A-Level exams this summer, all home-schooling for a different reason and with varying programme goals. We are proud to say that 85% of GCSE students achieved a grade 9 – 4, and 50% achieved a grade 9-7. For our A-Level students, a similarly impressive 80% of students achieved grades A*- C, and 43% of grades were A* or A. We are still waiting to hear from some A Level students about their next steps, but we are excited to say that some of our Enjoy home-schoolers will be heading to fantastic universities around the world this September, including Bocconi University, Selkirk College, King’s College London, and the University of St Andrews.

Whilst these figures are fantastic, we do not want to solely measure success in this way at Enjoy. Here are just a few student journeys from our 22/23 cohort:

R – Year 11

R started her online home-schooling programme with Enjoy in 2021. At the beginning, R was really struggling with her ADHD and ASD and chose not to have her camera on during lessons. It was important for R’s programme to grow slowly, in line with her confidence. She started with one subject she liked and gradually built up to a five subject GCSE programme, including subjects she had historically resisted. On results day, R achieved all grades 7-9.

N – Year 11

N started home-schooling with Enjoy in 2021, when she moved to the UK from Switzerland. The initial goal was to create an enjoyable home-learning programme that would build her foundational knowledge and prepare her for school entry whenever she was ready. N’s home-schooling programme grew to be one of the most diverse we’ve ever supported at Enjoy, featuring Japanese, Turkish, and singing lessons alongside the core GCSE subjects. N has now completed her GCSEs and is ready to embark on a new flexi-schooling adventure at sixth form, continuing to be supported by her tutors at Enjoy.

E – Year 13

E is an adult learner who came to us two years ago wanting to pursue a career in Computer Science. E had left school after his GCSEs so needed a bespoke A-Level programme to transition him back into education with the aim of securing three A-Levels. In order to gain a university place for Computer Science, E took on Maths, Further Maths, and Computer Science. Through hard work with his tutors, E gained the fantastic results of A*AB and secured his offer at King’s College London.

We’ve loved supporting all our students this year to achieve their potential, all while fostering a love of learning.
