Our top tips and resources for learning from home with Primary children.

Does your child have a passion for history?

History is a great subject to explore using research projects, which can make excellent diversions for days stuck inside after school with the family. We have a few free ideas below, as well as some fantastic tutors available to help do a History project with your children!

Here are some Historical learning activities you can do from home…

Ask your children to research an historic event that happened on this very day! Once they have researched and found an event, ask them to present their findings to you!

A fun activity for those with a passion for fashion! Find a picture of a historical period, such as the Romans or Egyptians, and set your children a challenge to use what’s in the house to re-create the outfit!

Choose a historical person or event, and set up a game where you give your children clues about key people, events, places etc. regarding your secret chosen topic.

If your child has a keen interest in history, this is the perfect opportunity to engage that passion, and take things further. We have some expert tutors who have worked making incredibly fun, engaging, and educational history projects tailored to our students. A good example is our fantastic tutor Alice, who designed an Egyptology project for a student who was fascinated by Ancient Egypt!

Now is a perfect time to do some research into your family history. It could be a great family activity to research a family tree and find out some more about your ancestors and track your relations back through time!

Do you have an old diary or old family albums? This would be a fantastic opportunity to go through some old photos and talk with your children about how times have changed since you were a child.
