Everything You Need to Know About the New UCAS Personal Statement (2025/26)

From 2025 (for 2026 entry), UCAS is replacing the traditional free-form personal statement with three structured questions. Now focusing on course choice, academic preparation, and relevant experiences. This aims to make applications fairer, clearer, and easier to write. Our expert Jessica advises: be specific, authentic, and strategic; highlight extracurriculars only if relevant and tailor examples to each course. Teacher references are also shifting to a structured, more objective format. Start drafting after Year 12 mocks, refine over summer, and keep your own voice. Keep in mind though, AI-written statements are easy to spot!
